ECU Drug Charges Dropped Against Wiz Khalifa

Today is Wiz Khalifa’s birthday and this might be the best gift of all for the Pittsburgh rapper. Drug charges from Wiz Khalifa’s arrest last year on Nov. 8 2010 were dropped. Here is an article from reflector:

Drug charges were dropped against a rapper who performed at East Carolina University because the charges were in error at the time of his arrest, the district attorney said Wednesday.
Rapper Cameron Jibril Thomaz, 22, who performs under the stage name Wiz Khalifa, was charged Nov. 8 with trafficking marijuana, maintaining a place for sale of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after his arrest outside Wright Auditorium.
ECU police seized a quantity of marijuana from his tour bus following the performance. Nine others also were booked into the jail on related charges. Marijuana use is a central theme of Thomaz’ performances.
District Attorney Clark Everett determined that the amount of marijuana seized on the bus did not exceed the 10-pound threshold for a trafficking charge.

Wiz Khalifa Talks About Meeting Amber Rose Being An Example and More

Don’t be fooled by the façade. There’s more to Wiz Khalifa than tattoos and medicinal marijuana.
The rapper recently sat down with S2S Publisher Jamie Foster Brown for a one-on-one interview in which he talked about his upbringing, his career and his future with Amber Rose.
After it was all said and done, Wiz left Jamie thinking of him as “smart” with a “good heart.”
“You’re such a wonderful child,” she told him. Find out how he charmed her in the October 2011 issue of Sister 2 Sister, and get an excerpt below.

Jamie: Now let’s get into the girlfriend stuff. You’re a cutie pie. Did you have a lot of girlfriends growing up?
Wiz: (laughs) I didn’t have a lot of girlfriends growing up, just because I was so young; you know.

Jamie: You are young. That’s too funny that you said that. Well, how did you get with Amber?
Wiz: Two great people when they meet up, and when you’re at a certain point in your life, you know, I’m a little bit more mature than people in my age range. I’ve always been able to know when I have a good situation and be able to hold that close to me and not ruin it. Just because I’m young and in my past before I wasn’t always with (just) one girl, or usually rappers aren’t, you know what I’m saying? It’s not really regular for a rapper to be like, “This is my girl and this is the only woman that I’m going to be with.” But it just makes sense to me, and that’s how I really feel. And I just put that out there and everybody who embraces me, they have to embrace that as well.
Jamie: That is amazing that you even said that!
Wiz: (laughs)
Jamie: Because these guys don’t commit to anything today. Who are you?!
Wiz: Who am I? (laughs)
Jamie: Who are you? (laughs)
Wiz: I’m an example. (laughs)
Jamie: I’m just so floored. So, the connection between you and her is just real. Where did you meet her?
Wiz: I met her in L.A. Well, we talked on the Internet first because I was on tour. And she’s designing a sunglasses store, and she was just interested in my look and wanted me to be a part of her line. And it was at a time where she was just really focused on work and I was really just trying to get my stuff off the ground, too, so we were really just focused on business and being cool and stuff like that. But when we met, we hit it off just right away. I just became so interested in her and I didn’t want to spend any time away from her. I always wanted to be around her and she felt the same way, and I ended up just moving out to L.A. and just started my life out there with her.
Jamie: Oh my god! I just have to get up off of the floor!
Wiz: (laughs)

Wiz Khalifa gears up for hometown finish to tour

“I never stop grinding,” Wiz Khalifa said Tuesday afternoon, a few hours before his gig in Indianapolis.
The Pittsburgh rapper seems to have been on the road almost constantly since spring 2010. On Saturday, he wraps up the 40-plus city “Rolling Papers” U.S. tour with a hometown show at the Trib Amphitheater.
“It’s always fun to play in front of the home crowd,” he said.
The shows that stuck out for him on this tour were a June date in San Francisco that sold out the 8,500-capacity Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, and a July 24 show that drew 15,000 fans to the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md., where Mac Miller, Big K.R.I.T and Curren$y were surprise guests.
Before that, he did a European run, where he said, in terms of the crowd reaction, “it was pretty much exactly the same, which was crazy, because a lot of those countries don’t speak English.”

If Wiz Khalifa hadn’t spent so much time working on his mike skills, he probably could have been a baller.
At 6-foot-4 or so, the Pittsburgh rapper has the height and the long arms.

On Monday, he took a break from his “Rolling Papers” tour to represent, with his Taylor Gang, in the Converse Band of Ballers three-on-three basketball game at La Salle High School in New York City.
It was hosted by MTV’s Sway, with play-by-play commentary by Bobbito Garcia, courtside correspondent by “Greg the Puppet” and beats by DJ D-Nice.
Challenging the Taylor Gang for the “Golden Speaker Trophy” were reigning 2009 and 2010 champs Jim Jones + Jones Family (Cam’ron), Team Brooklyn with Matt & Kim, Chiddy Bang + Team Swell and YMCMB (Lil Twist and Cory Gunz).
The winner will be revealed in an on-air special on MTV2 to air in mid-August.
